REGISTRATIONS CLOSED

This short course has been designed for interpreters working with new and emerging languages or languages which NAATI does not currently test who wish to gain NAATI certification as recognised practising interpreters, and for practising interpreters preparing for the professional certified interpreter test.


SESSION 1

  •   Introduction to course and overview of theory
  •   Consecutive interpreting demonstration
  •   Practice of memory skills
  •   Using arrows, abbreviations and time symbols
  •   Principles of note taking
  •   Suggestions for practice


Participants are asked to have a spiral A4 notepad and any other devices they may wish to use in their practice.

Presenter

Felicity Mueller has worked as a German/English interpreter in conference and community settings for over 30 years. She has taught consecutive and simultaneous interpreting as well as translation at UWS, UNSW and the Centre for Translation Studies at the University of Vienna.
