Essential legal concepts for community T & I's



Are you a translator or interpreter who works with lawyers? Do you want to learn about legal terms and legal concepts?

This 90-minute presentation "Community law and legal concepts for Translators and Interpreters" will focus on introducing practitioners to common terms and concepts that may be used in community legal settings.

There will be a focus on:

• advance care directives
• wills
• power of attorney
• guardianship
• family law
• criminal law

Delivered by the Legal Services Commission of South Australia, this presentation will run for 90 minutes and will provide a general overview of the above topics.


Presenter
  Melanie Robinson

Melanie Robinson is a Legal Education Officer who has worked for the Legal Services Commission of South Australia since 2013. Melanie has experience as a community lawyer and has provided legal training for interpreters in many settings over the past 10 years.
