NEW DATE FOR EVENT

______________________________________

In the dental surgery and out of your comfort zone - explaining - contemporary dental techniques in simple terms so you can interpret/translate for your clients.

During this presentation, Drs Scott and Carapetis will explain in layman's terms some of the newer dental treatments, how they work, and what is involved. That way, if you understand the theory behind the treatment, you can in turn explain it to your clients, again using simple terms that they can understand. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions not only about those techniques described on the night, but also any other dental treatments you may wish to know.

Presenter 1

Dr. Stephen Carapetis is a general dentist, having been in private practice since 1979. He has been the Senior Partner in G.P. Dental Partners in 2005. He has been a member of the Review Committee of ADASA for 30 years. His main interest is in Ceramics (Inlays, Onlays & Veneers ) and prosthetic crowns & bridges for implants.

Presenter 2

Dr Janet Scott
is a specialist dentist in oral and maxillofacial surgery. She has retired from her private practice but is still working in the CBD for a corporate dental practice and also teaching the postgraduate dental students. Janet is the current Chair of the Review Committee, and like Stephen has been on this committee for a long time. She is a member of the Army Reserve.

The Review Committee listens to and tries to resolve complaints made about dentists, and both Janet and Stephen realise the importance of communication so that the patient thoroughly understands the procedure in language that he or she can understand, not just technical speak.
