AUSIT is proud to present a series of two webinars on translating and Interpreting the LGBTQIA+ Terminology over TWO SESSIONS -  Saturday 15 and Saturday 29 October 2022.

In this training module, we will explore the meaning behind the LGBTQIA+ terminology to improve understanding of diverse sexuality, gender identity, and sex characteristics. We will also talk about the role of translators and interpreters to provide a respectful, safe, and inclusive service for members of the LGBTQIA+ communities, especially people from multicultural and multifaith backgrounds.

The training will use scenarios and case studies to improve our understanding, empathy, and compassion so we can be an inclusive translators and interpreters. The training will be delivered by Budi Sudarto from Ananda Training & Consultancy.

Please note: due to the highly interactive nature of the training, the webinars will NOT be recorded Registrants will only receive a Certificate if they have attended both webinars.


Presenter: Budi Sudarto

Budi Sudarto (they/he) is the Director of Ananda Training & Consultancy, a boutique agency specialising in intersectionality, inclusion, and justice. Budi came to Australia in 1998 as an international student, and they have been actively involved in Melbourne's LGBTQIA+ communities for over 20 years. Budi brought their knowledge and passion to initiate change through meaningful conversation, delivered with intent and a sense of humour to maximise impact.

Please NOTE - This event is capped at 100 people for optimal delivery. The spots are assigned on a first come first serve basis.

Please  consult the NAATI Recertification Catalogue to allocate the relevant PD Points - downloadable from www.naati.com.au.  Some activities can be included under different categories, so please choose the most appropriate category for your recertification purposes.


Certificates -

You must attend BOTH SESSIONS to receive a Certificate of Attendance.  Certificates may take approximately two (2) weeks to be released following the event.
