NAT: Cyber Hacking and
Protecting Your Computers

Via Zoom online
Friday 24 February 2023
3.00pm - 4.30pm AEST (Qld time)

EVENT CLOSED

Cyber hacking poses a great threat to the information security of organisations and individuals, affecting almost any profession. Translators and interpreters, in their everyday work, need to comply with the confidentiality norm by keeping the information they need to handle safe and secure. However, cyber hacking has become more rampant and has happened in a more hidden way over the past few years. Translators and interpreters may have their information hacked without knowing what happened and how it took place. Therefore, it is important to be vigilant and understand how to protect our information from cyber hacking. In this talk, we will use a virtual computer network to demonstrate what hackers do to penetrate personal computers. Following the demonstration, we discuss some easy but often ignored ways to protect your network-connected computers and digital devices.
