The current AUSIT QLD branch would like to extend their welcome to any colleagues who are interested in joining the committee. Some of our committee members are ending their terms and we are seeking new committee members to fill their roles.

This year we are looking for a member to take the position of PD Coordinator. If you are interested in organising social events as well as liaising with the national PD committee to organise more structed webinars, please reach out. Please rest assured you will be guided by the outgoing position holder Sam Berner and the entire committee. Feel free to get in touch prior to the AGM if you are considering this role.

We also welcome members to join the committee as non-position holders. Becoming a committee member requires you to attend a two-hour meeting once a month, engage in committee discussions, participate in projects undertaken by the Committee, and provide a hand here and there with organising events. It doesn’t matter if you are new to the T/I profession, or a seasoned professional, all voices are required to ensure we are meeting the needs of all members.

Some of the benefits of being part of the committee are:

· Increased awareness of inner workings of the industry
. First-hand ability to make a difference to the T/I profession

· Develop new professional relationships and contacts
· Reduce the isolation associated with our profession
· Be recognised amongst your peers and employers as someone who is actively engaged with the industry
· Gain greater professional recognition
· Allocation of PD points for your participation in the committee

We are an extremely friendly and lively bunch of people, and you can be sure you will receive many benefits by joining.

If you have any questions about what is it like to be on the committee, please contact us at qld@ausit.org.

The AGM will be followed by a presentation by Sam Berner on Redefining Our Ethics: Navigating AI, Global Shifts, and Cultural Hegemony. Please register for this PD event separately.

The AGM and Presentation are both FREE events for AUSIT members.

Don't miss the opportunity to learn about the work of your Branch Committee over the past 12 months and to have a say in its future.

For additional information or any queries, please contact the branch at qld@ausit.org.

If you would like to appoint a Proxy for the meeting please complete and submit the below Proxy Form to qld@ausit.org by Friday 8 September 2023.

The zoom link details for the webinar will be emailed out two (2) days before the event.  We ask that you please keep the AGM zoom link private
.

PD Logbook: Level - Intermediate.

Attending the AGM attracts 10 PD points. Please  consult the NAATI Recertification Catalogue to allocate the relevant PD Points - downloadable from www.naati.com.au.   Some activities can be included under different categories, so please choose the most appropriate category for your recertification purposes.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday 16 September 2023!
